COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. AUGUST 24, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz; Cory Wright, Commissioner, (via WebEx).
Others Via WebEx: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Mandy
Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk
of the Board I; Clay Myers, Sheriff; Mark Cook, Public Works
Director/Interim County Engineer.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendars.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved the County Vouchers and
PAF’s.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Correspondence Log for the week ending August 21, 2020 was
presented.
REQUEST HIRE KCSO I.T. PERSON AT STEP 3 SHERIFF
Clay Myers, Sheriff requested permission to offer their vacant Law
Enforcement Technologist position to the successful Interviewee at
Step 3. The Board approved the request as presented.
REQUEST CORONER’S OFFICE TRUCK CORONER
Removed at the request of the Coroner.
EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS
At 9:06 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith announced the Board would recess
into Executive Session for 15 with Mark Cook, Public Works
Director/Interim County Engineer to consider the minimum price at
which real estate will be offered for sale or lease when public

knowledge regarding such consideration would cause a likelihood of
decreased price. However, final action selling or leasing public
property shall be taken in a meeting open to the public. Action
anticipated.
At 9:21 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. The
Board directed Director Cook to work with Legal and formalize a
Purchase & Sale Agreement as discussed.
PLANNING COVID-19 COMMISSIONERS
There were no updates.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of August 24, 2020 that they would
share on their Facebook page any Press Releases from Public Health
relating to COVID-19; as well as information about the 4-H Livestock
Auction and the Press Release for the new Courthouse Advisory
Committee.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES-
Chairman Wachsmith asked the Board to think about creating a policy
where Department Head’s and Elected’s only bring forward salary
increases twice a year.
Commissioner Wright asked that the Chair put together a letter on
behalf of the Board to go out reminding the Management Team to
complete their responsibilities with the Capital Facilities Plan
work so that the County can be in compliance with GMA. Chairman
Wachsmith said he would work with Dan Carlson, CDS Director on
getting something together.
There was discussion on picking up the County Management Team
meetings again.
