COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

SPECIAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 9:00 A.M. AUGUST 12, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; Vice-Chairman
Laura Osiadacz; and Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Julie
Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the
Board I; Kady Porterfield, KVEC Director and Judy Pless, Budget &
Finance Director.
SPECIAL MEETING BUDGET RETREAT PLANNING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened a Special Meeting to discuss
the Budget Retreat to be held on August 19, 2020.
The Board discussed who would be presenting items on the Management
Team Budget Retreat Agenda which would be held virtually this year.
The Agenda would have opening remarks, State Representative
presentations & Chamber presentation, Financial Report, Human
Resources presentation and then Individual Department presentations
ending with open discussion and then closing. The Board discussed
their priorities to include in a letter that the Board would send
out to the Management Team. Commissioner Wright would like to see
budget stabilization, employee retention, transparency/PIO, and no
new capital project requests. Chairman Wachsmith would like to
discuss and review of property taxes, Technology, Transparency, PIO
Internal External Communicator. Commissioner Osiadacz stated she
would like to focus on Transparency, PIO, and customer service.
Chairman Wachsmith stated he would draft the letter for the Board to
review prior to having Staff send it out and would work with
presenters.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:23 a.m.
