RE,SOLUTION NO. 2O2O -+I
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING NAMING THE COLINTY OWNED PROPERTY AT THE
PONDS ON NANEUM ROAD NORTH OF VANTAGE HIGHWAY TO 'THOMPSON PARK'
WHEREAS, RCW 36.32.430 provides that: "The Board of County Commissioners is
authorized to designate the name of any park established by the County."; and
WHEREAS, the purpose is to rename this property in honor of Deputy Ryan Thompson for
his dedication to his service in Law Enforcement as he was murdered in the line of duty on March
19,2019;and
WHEREAS, the renaming of this property in his name recognizes not only his service but
his beliefs as he was an outdoor recreation enthusiast enjoying fishing, hiking, camping and
otherwise enjoying the great outdoors; therefore, renaming this property in his honor would be a
tribute to Ryan, his service and his family; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE, IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, that this
Resolution be adopted pursuant to RCW 36.32.430, renaming the County owned property at the
ponds on Naneum Road north of Vantage Highway to "Thompson Park".
