KITTITAS COUNTY <br />SHERIFF'S OFFICE <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br />AGENDA DATE: August 4, 2020 <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Professional Services Agreement for <br />installation of duress, or "panic" buttons to allow control of all jail doors and cameras to <br />be transferred to the other control desk in the event of an emergency. <br />BACKGROUND: Currently the main control room can take over the Annex doors and <br />cameras, but the Annex cannot take over control of the main jail doors and cameras in the <br />event of an emergency where the main jail control room was compromised. The scope of <br />work includes labor, materials for the installation, programming, and testing of control <br />area transfers through the new duress button activations. The project shall be funded by <br />revenues generated by the Inmate Telephone Service in accordance with Kittitas County <br />Board of Commissioners Resolution No. 91-109 and 96-146 which was set up to fund <br />capital improvements to the Public Safety Building. <br />INTERACTION: This Proposal was reviewed and approved by the Kittitas County <br />Prosecutor's Office. <br />RECOMMENDATION: Request to approve a Professional Services Agreement for <br />installation of duress, or "panic" buttons to allow control of all jail doors and cameras to <br />be transferred to the other control desk in the event of an emergency. <br />HANDLING: Please return 1 signed original to KCSO. <br />LEAD STAFF: Commander Steve Panattoni <br />
