AGENDA STAFF REPORT
AGENDA DATE: August 4, 2020
ACTION REQUESTED: Request to approve a Professional Services Agreement for
electromagnetic front door locks for the jail public entry.
BACKGROUND: Currently the public entry doors from 6th Avenue are unlocked 24/7
allowing uncontrolled access to the jail lobby. The project is to include labor, materials,
programming, and testing of (2) electromagnetic door locks which can be monitored and
operated from the control room. The project shall be funded by revenues generated by
the Inmate Telephone Service in accordance with Kittitas County Board of
Commissioners Resolution No. 91-109 and 96-146 which was set up to fund capital
improvements to the Public Safety Building.
INTERACTION: This Proposal was reviewed and approved by the Kittitas County
Prosecutor's Office.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to approve a Professional Services Agreement for
electromagnetic front door locks for the jail public entry.
