ACTION REQUESTED: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Naming the
County Owned Property at the Pond on Naneum Road North of Vantage Highway to
`Thompson Park'
BACKGROUND: The purpose is to rename this property in honor of Deputy Ryan
Thompson for his dedication to his service in Law Enforcement as he was murdered in the
line of duty on March 19, 2019.
The renaming of this property in his name recognizes not only his service, but his beliefs as
he was an outdoor recreation enthusiast enjoying fishing, hiking, camping and otherwise
enjoying the great outdoors; therefore, renaming this property in his honor would be a
tribute to Ryan, his service and his family.
INTERACTION: The Kittitas County Prosecutor's Office has reviewed and approved
this amendment.
RECOMMENDATION: Request to Approve a Resolution Authorizing Naming the
County Owned Property at the Pond on Naneum Road North of Vantage Highway to
`Thompson Park'
HANDLING: Please return one signed copy to the Sheriff's Office.
