KITTITAS COUNTY <br />CDS STUDY SESSION MINUTES <br />COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM, 205 WEST 5TH ROOM 109 - ELLENSBURG <br />Regular Meeting <br />MONDAY 1:30 PM May 26, 2020 <br />Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith, Vice -Chairman <br />Cory Wright, and Laura Osiadacz <br />Others: Lindsey Ozbolt (CDS)and Dan Carlson (CDS) <br />Meeting was called to order at 1:30 pm <br />CDS Operations Update <br />Director Carlson gave a brief overview on CDS operations. <br />Building inspections are currently conducting 25-30 inspections <br />daily. Planners, Plans Examiners, and Code Enforcement are all <br />working from home and the Fire Marshals office have resumed fire <br />life safety inspections. The Pat Nicholson, Fire Marshal is <br />currently working with the Fire Chiefs to set an early burn ban- <br />-- no date has been set. Fire Marshal Nicholson will continue to <br />monitor the fire risks. <br />2020 Docket Discussion <br />According to the Growth Management Act and the Kittitas County <br />Code you are not allowed to update the comprehensive plan more <br />than once per year, however you are not required to update at <br />all if the department choses. Director Carlson asked the Board <br />of the County Commissioners how many docket items they should <br />bring forward due to the current situation. <br />SMP Grant <br />Planning Official, Lindsey Ozbolt stated that the Long Range <br />Planner, Bridget has been reviewing the Shoreline Master Program <br />which is due for update by June 2021. Bridget has worked her way <br />through the preliminary checklist and is pleased to report that <br />there are minimal changes. The Planning Department has the <br />opportunity to apply for a grant from the Department of Ecology. <br />The grant is in the amount of $84,000 and would help with the <br />cost to update the Shoreline Master Program. One of the <br />requirements of the grant is that there be a public <br />participation plan, with the current times the participation <br />plan has been edited to allow more information to be released to <br />the public digitally. <br />2020-5-26 MINUTES 1 <br />
