KITTITAS COUNTY Board of County Commissioners AGENDA STAFF REPORT AGENDA DATE: July 21, 2020 ACTION REQUESTED: Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to Approve Amendment No. 1 to LT-2020-028-Chamber-Independence Day-Amended EP BACKGROUND: the LTAC approves grants for events on a yearly basis in November of the previous year. In 2019 the Chamber of Commerce was awarded $22,886 for marketing of an event for Independence Day 2020. During the open public LTAC meeting on May 21st, 2020 the Chamber submitted a request to return the funds and instead be awarded $10,000 for a firework show because of COVID-19. The Committee voted 4-0 to approve this request as presented. During the agenda session on 4/21/2020 the BOCC approved the amended EP contract here provided, this EP stands for Emergency Policy which allows the BOCC and the Contractor to make changes to this contract due to world events such as a pandemic. INTERACTION: The BOCC approved the original contract on 1/21/2020. The amended EP contract was approved by the BOCC on 4/21/2020. The request for the funds transfer was presents and accepted by the LTAC committee on 5/21/2020. The PA’s Office approved the language for the transfer. The Auditor’s Office approved the amendment language for payment section. RECOMMENDATION: Approve the Amendment No. 1 to LT-2020-028-Chamber-Independence Day-Amended EP.
