LODGING TAX ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />WEBEX <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />THURSDAY 3:00 P.M. MAY 19, 2020 <br />Committee members present via WebEx: Chairman Laura Osiadacz, Brian Maglietti, Roylene Crawford, and Victor Woodward. <br />Staff: Taylor Crouch (via WebEx). <br />There were also 2 members of the public present (via WebEx). <br />Chairman Osiadacz opened a Regular Meeting of theLodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) at 3:00p.m. <br />MINUTES <br />The minutes from February and March were reviewed. Roylene Crawford moved to approve both sets of minutes, as presented. Brian Maglietti seconded. Motion carried 4-0. <br />FINANCIAL UPDATE <br />Judy Pless, Budget and Finance Manager will have the Financial update ready for the Committee to review next week. <br />SMALL SCALE GRANT UPDATE <br />The Committee reviewed the one application that is completed for Small Scale Grants. Chairman Osiadacz stated that the Public Lands Advisory Committee and the City of Cle Elum were both <br />planning to apply. The Committee asked to be sent the applications for review as they are received. <br />COVID-19 PLANNING AND UPDATE FOR 2020 GRANTS IN PROCESS <br />The Amended EP contracts have been approved by the BOCC and have been sent back out to applicants for their signature. The Committee reviewed a survey for applicants to get a better <br />idea of the current funding picture of LTAC funds for 2020. The Committee approved the survey, and it will be sent out to the applicants. <br />DICUSS/CONSIDER CHAMBER FUNDS TRANSFER REQUEST <br />Madison Ford, Director of Tourism for the Chamber of Commerce asked the Committee to review the funds transfer request for the Cle Elum Independence Day Celebration. Ms. Ford stated <br />that with the current health conditions, the firework show of this event is the only safe aspect to move forward. The Chamber asked to return the $22,886.00 they received for the event <br />and asked instead for $10,000.00 to be granted to the firework show. Victor Woodward stated he was glad to see that the event was getting creative in how they are moving forward. Roylene <br />Crawford stated her support for the firework show, as it is a staple for the Community. Chairman Osiadacz asked Taylor Crouch, Clerk to explore the approval process through the Prosecutor’s <br />Office for this request, and if it requires BOCC approval or CLTAC approval as well. Victor Woodward moved to approve the Chamber’s funds transfer request as presented. Roylene Crawford <br />seconded. Motion carried 4-0. <br />CHAMBER UPDATE <br />Madison Ford gave a report for April 2020. The site was still trending upward except for organic searches which was expected to decrease. The site isstaying updated on what is open to <br />the public. There is an emphasis on future trip planning to Kittitas County. <br />OTHER BUSINESS <br />There was conversation on #recreateresponsibly, the campaign being pushed through Upper County recreation sites as they move to their peak season. <br />PUBLIC COMMENT <br />There was no public comment. <br />Meeting adjourned at3:39p.m. <br />__________________________________________________ <br />Taylor Crouch, LTAC ClerkLaura Osiadacz, LTAC Chairman
