KITTITAS COUNTY <br />Board of County Commissioners <br /> <br />AGENDA STAFF REPORT <br /> <br />AGENDA DATE: July 7th, 2020 <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: Request the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) to set a Public Hearing for 2:00pm on July 21st, 2020 at Kittitas County Courthouse Commissioner's Auditorium 205 Wet <br />5th Ave. Suite 109 Ellensburg, WA 98926 to consider an Ordinance Adopting Legislation to Authorize a Sales and Use Tax for Affordable and Supportive Housing in Accordance with Substitute <br />House Bill 1406.  <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: House Bill 1406 is a sales tax credit that allows local jurisdictions to impose a local state-shared sales and use tax to fund affordable or supportive housing. The consumer <br />does not pay this tax, and the effective sales tax rate remains the same.
