COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM REGULAR MEETING MONDAY 9:00 A.M. JUNE 15, 2020
Board members present: Chairman Brett Wachsmith; and Via Webex:
Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz & Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Lisa Young, Human
Resource Director; and Via Webex: Taylor Crouch, Deputy Clerk of the
Board I; Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Mark Cook,
Public Works Director/Interim Engineer; and 2 members of the public.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wachsmith opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved the County Vouchers and
PAF’s.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
There was no Correspondence Log to review for the week ending June
12, 2020.
DISCUSSION INTERNSHIP PUBLIC WORKS
Mark Cook, Public Works Director/Interim Engineer, reviewed a
proposal for a Public Works Engineering/Survey Internship, including
the costs, budget, as well as the duties and expectations. The
Board said they didn’t have any issues with it and authorized the
Public Works Director to work with the Human Resource Department to
begin the Internship process. RESOLUTION 2020-116 COVID-19 POLICY & OPERATIONS HUMAN RESOURCE
Chairman Wachsmith moved to approve Resolution No. 2020-116,
Adopting the Kittitas County COVID-19 Policy and Operations Plan.
Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-0.

UPDATES COVID-19 COMMISSIONERS
There were brief updates provided by the Board of County
Commissioners relating to COVID-19. Commissioner Wright suggested
allowing public comments at the Board of Health meeting scheduled
for June 18, 2020, as well as having a State of Emergency Status as
a status agenda item to allow for discussion on if there is a need
to continue with the Order. The Board agreed to Commissioner
Wright’s recommendation and Chairman Wachsmith said he would reach
out to the Public Health Department to let them know.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of June 15, 2020 that they would
share on their Facebook page any Press Releases from Public Health
and other information relating to COVID-19; and to thank agencies
for their hard work in helping capture a fugitive who had been on
the run for the past several weeks.
OTHER BUSINESS/GENERAL UPDATES
Each Commissioner may use this time to brief the Board on varying
topics and discussions they independently had throughout the
previous week.
