RESOLUTION NO. 2020________
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN STATE
OF WASHINGTON OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY OF STATE AND KITTITAS COUNTY
WHEREAS, RCW 39.34, the Interlocal Cooperation Act, provides the capability for public
agencies to cooperate by providing services and facilities for mutual advantage; and
WHEREAS, the State of Washington Office of the Secretary of State (OSOS) and Kittitas County
Auditor’s Office have the ability and desire to enter into such a cooperative agreement, a copy of
which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of this agreement to provide funding to ”improve the
administration of elections for Federal office, including to enhance election technology and make
elections security improvements” to the systems, equipment and processes used in Federal elections;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, That the agreement between
the State of Washington Office of State and Kittitas County to provide federal funds to “improve the
administration of elections for Federal office, including to enhance election technolog y and make
election security improvements” to the systems, equipment and processes used in Federal elections
is adopted and the signature of the Kittitas County Auditor on this agreement is acknowledged.
