12/14/2015 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 9:40 A.M. DECEMBER 14, 2015 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Gary Berndt & Commissioner Paul <br />Jewell. Absent: Vice-Chairman Obie O’Brien. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board and Marsha Weyand, <br />Assessor. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD ASSESSOR <br /> <br />Marsha Weyand, Assessor reviewed RCW 84.52.020 and 84.52.070 <br />relating to submission of levy certifications by Taxing Districts. <br />She explained how the statute states that the Legislative Authority <br />is to “certify” the Taxing District Levies to the County Assessor. <br />In the past the County Commissioners have “acknowledged” receipt of <br />them in an Agenda, but thought it should be a “certification” <br />instead. <br /> <br />Following discussion the Board instructed Ms. Weyand to work with <br />Deputy Prosecutor Christopher Horner to draft a Resolution which <br />could be used as a certification and to place it on an upcoming <br />Agenda for consideration.
