1/11/2016 MINUTES 1
COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING

MONDAY 9:50 A.M. JANUARY 11, 2016

Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien, Vice-Chairman Paul
Jewell & Commissioner Gary Berndt.

Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Judy Pless,
Budget & Finance Manager; Dora Van Epps, Fiscal Analyst.

REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD AUDITOR

At 10:40 a.m. Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager requested the
Board give direction on whether or not to authorize the lodging tax
Contract with Forterra to be reimbursed. She explained that the
concern has to do with Forterra’s event name and date changing which
does not match the Contract signed, noting it was to be completed by
the end of the first quarter.

There was discussion on the importance of the details within the
Contract and that the Auditor’s Office needs to follow what is set
out in the Contract. Ms. Pless indicated that she contacted their
Prosecutor and he was supportive of the stance the Auditor’s Office
was taking on the application. She explained that his recommendation
if the Board was insisting on paying the invoice the Auditor’s
office received then the BoCC should do an amendment to the Contract
and consider it on a future Agenda Session.

The Board directed Staff to prepare an Amendment with the date &
name change to match the event that took place.

Meeting adjourned at 11:00 a.m.

KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

Mandy Buchholz Obie O’Brien, Chairman
