COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:40 A.M. MAY 21, 2018
Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Obie
O’Brien & Commissioner Paul Jewell.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Mark Cook, DPW
Director/Interim County Engineer & Liz Remeto, Finance System
Manager.
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD PUBLIC WORKS
Mark Cook, DPW Director/Interim County Engineer stated that they
have done a complete analysis on their ER&R Fund Rates. He stated
that historically they have been over collecting and are proposing
moving to a monthly rate instead of hourly. He stated if they Board
supports moving this direction they need to adopt it by June 1, 2018
to change rates to monthly instead of hourly. He stated that when
the equipment is being rented by outside agencies they can use
FEMA’s hourly rates and if they switch sooner rather than later it
will save money because they were being faced with a possible
software purchase to assist in the DPW finance division time.
The Board expressed their support for Public Works to begin to move
towards monthly rate formula vs. hourly and directed Mr. Cook to
bring forward a Resolution to consider at their next Public Works
Study Session.
