COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. MARCH 25, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Julie
Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Stephanie Hartung, Deputy Prosecutor.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending March 22, 2019.
APPOINTMENT KCHA – HULL - REAPPOINT COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to reappoint David Hull to the Kittitas
County Housing Authority for a 5 year term effective immediately and
expiring on 4/6/2024. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried
3-0.
DISCUSSION 2019 HOLIDAY CLOSURES COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wachsmith proposed that the Board work with HR to have
the following days July 5, 2019 (all day); November 20th, 2019 (½
day); and December 31, 2019 (½ day) in place for optional closures,
noting employees would have the option to take vacation.
Commissioner Osiadacz and Chairman Wright were in support of the
proposal.
REQUEST NACO – MEETING COMMISSIONERS

Commissioner Osiadacz questioned if the Board was in support of her
attending the NACO Meeting – Western Interstate Region Conference.
She explained that she would have to attend and register for the
whole thing and the cost would be approximately $500.00 for the
conference registration alone, not including hotel. The Board
supported the request.
RESOLUTION 2019-062 INTERGOVERNMENTAL TRANSACTION COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve Resolution No. 2019-062,
Resolution to Authorize an Intergovernmental Transaction between
Kittitas County and the City of Cle Elum. Commissioner Osiadacz
seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of March 25, 2019 they would be
sharing posts from the Sherriff’s Office regarding Fallen Sheriff’s
Deputy Ryan Thompson Memorial Service and ways to support Deputy
Thompson’s Family as well as injured Kittitas Officer Chavez.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special
Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18,
2009. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their
respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings. On
January 3, 2011 the Board determined it would be beneficial to
alternate Commissioners that will oversee the different Department
Head’s on an annual basis. They determined at the end of 2013 they
would review the various committees they participate in and provide
beneficial updates to the Board as needed during this time as well.
