COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

SPECIAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 2:00 P.M. FEBRUARY 27, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith. Excused - Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Stephanie Hartung,
Deputy Prosecutor – By Phone; Tim Egan, Facilities Maintenance Director;
Patti Johnson, Solid Waste/Project Manager and Kady Porterfield, Event
Center Director.
SPECIAL MEETING 4th of JULY EVENT COMMISSIONERS
At 2:00 p.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to meet with Kady
Porterfield, Event Center Director to receive an update about the 4th of
July concert (Tracy Lawrence).
Ms. Porterfield provided and reviewed an offer from Romeo Entertainment
Group requesting that the County pay a 50% deposit on the performance to
secure Tracy Lawrence for 7/4/2019. She stated that once this is
complete they will announce the County’s event and that will allow them
to begin advertising. She stated that the Auditor’s Office and
Prosecutor’s Office had reviewed it and had no concerns.
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve and authorize Director
Porterfield to pay up to a 50% deposit as requested. Chairman Wright
seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
OTHER BUSINESS –
Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Project Manager; Tim Egan,
Facilities Maintenance Director and Stephanie Hartung, DPA (by phone)
provided an update from Dibble Engineers. The Board discussed plans on
moving forward and timelines that need to be addressed. The Board will
draft a letter with the assistance of Deputy Hartung to deliver to
County Clerk Val Barschaw.
The meeting was adjourned at 2:30 p.m.
