COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON 901 EAST 7TH AVE – ARMORY A SPECIAL MEETING FRIDAY 9:00 A.M. FEBRUARY 22, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Stephanie Hartung, Deputy
Prosecutor; Neil Caulkins, Deputy Prosecutor; Dan Carlson, CDS Director;
Patti Johnson, Solid Waste/Project Manager (via conference call).
SPECIAL MEETING DIBBLE ENGINEERS COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting to review an
Engineers Report from Dibble Engineers, Inc. relating to safety concerns
of the 2nd floor loading in the County Clerk’s records room and cracks in
the Commissioner’s office and Auditorium’s ceiling.
Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Project Manager reviewed the
Engineer’s Report and said with the current configuration in the Clerk’s
records room, the file cabinets seem to be overweight and recommended
spacing them out 4 feet apart, as well as bracing them too.
After discussing the Engineers Report the Board asked Stephanie Hartung,
Deputy Prosecutor and Ms. Johnson to meet with the Clerk, Val Barschaw
at their earliest convenience to review the report and see what changes
she can make to remedy the situation in her file room in order to meet
the Engineer’s recommendation. The Board said once the Engineer
determines the Clerk’s proposal is sufficient, they’d like to get
something in writing that outlines the solution so they don’t have to
revisit the safety concerns in file room again. Ms. Hartung said if the
Engineer or anyone else needed to go up to the Clerk’s office to see the
file room she requested them to contact her so she could also be there
at the same time.
The anticipated timeline for the Commissioner’s office to move back into
the Courthouse was two weeks.

RESOLUTION 2019-037 MERIT RESOURCE SERVICES COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wachsmith moved to approve Resolution No. 2019-037,
Authorizing the Sale of Real Property by Merit Resource Services to a
Private Buyer. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded.
Chairman Wright moved to amend the motion to include signature on a
letter to Mr. Dave Wilson, Executive Director of Merit Resource
Services. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
Original motion passed 3-0.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:40 a.m.
