2019-02-11 MINUTES 1
COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON KITTITAS COUNTY EVENT CENTER – ARMORY BUILDING 901 E. 7th AVENUE – ROOM A SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY 11:00 A.M. FEBRUARY 11, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright; Vice-Chairman Brett
Wachsmith; and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.

Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Amy McGuffin, Kittitas
County Chamber of Commerce CEO; Roylene Crawford, Lodging Tax
Advisory Committee Member/Fair Board Member/Member of the public.
SPECIAL MEETING CHAMBER OF COMMERCE COMMISSIONERS
At 11:00 a.m. Chairman Wright opened a Special Meeting with Amy
McGuffin, CEO of the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. McGuffin provided an update on work they’ve been doing for
promoting businesses County-wide. She asked what the Kittitas County
Board of Commissioners expectations were of them and what role they
should play in the County. The Board provided ideas they thought the
Chamber should be involved in. Ms. McGuffin provided an update on
the variety of representation who is currently serving on the
Chamber Board. There was discussion on the .09 personnel funding
contract of $72,000.00 as well as the ADO contract and deliverables.
She said she’d like to see additional deliverables added into the
next contract. They’ve started work on a strategic plan which will
include their strengths and weaknesses so the Board can educate
themselves prior to the next contract. She felt the timing was good
to restart and refresh the roles of the Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. McGuffin said the Economic Committee is being revitalized and
they’ll soon be meeting for the first time. She said they have a
variety of good, skilled representation on the committee. It was
noted Commissioner Wachsmith would be representing the Board of
County Commissioners at those meetings. She asked the Board if
they’d like to hold quarterly meetings with her and they thought it
would be a good idea to get updates and reports from the Chamber of
Commerce. Ms. McGuffin said to expect the strategic plan to be
available sometime between September and October.
