COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON

REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:50 A.M. FEBRUARY 11, 2019
Board members present: Chairman Cory Wright & Commissioner Laura
Osiadacz. Excused: Vice-Chairman Brett Wachsmith.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Tim Egan,
Maintenance Director; Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Manager (by
phone).
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD MAINTENANCE
Tim Egan, Facilities Maintenance Director explained that during the
budget the Board approved his request for a Backhoe with a dollar
figure attached to the purchase/lease of approximately $171,000.00.
He stated after going through the State process the cost came down
to approximately $90,000.00. He questioned if the Board would prefer
him to purchase the new backhoe out-right or lease it.
There was discussion on whether they should wait for the sales tax
revenues to come through or not. Judy Pless, Budget and Finance
Director stated that they are already ahead of projections and since
the backhoe came in under the initial budgeted amount the Board
should be fine to proceed.
PURCHASE BACKHOE – NEW MAINTENANCE
The Board authorized Mr. Egan to proceed with the purchase of a new
backhoe from the State bid.
