2019‐01‐28 Minutes 1 Information Technology <br />Commissioners’ Minutes <br />Kittitas County, Washington <br />Commissioners’ Conference Room <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />Monday 11:00 AM January 28, 2019 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chair Cory Wright, Vice‐Chair Brett Wachsmith, Commissioner Laura Osiadacz <br /> <br />Others: IT Director Jim Goeben, Maintenance Director Tim Egan <br /> <br />Regular Meeting Information Technology <br />Meeting called to order at 11:10 AM. <br /> <br />Cable Installation <br />Mr. Goeben presented a staff report request to authorize use of Small Purchase Roster to contract low <br />voltage wire installation. There was discussion about the history of the Maintenance department <br />completing this classification of work and the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools. The board denied <br />the request and directed IT to take the lead on low voltage electrical wire runs (Ethernet) and to request <br />assistance from Maintenance when IT is not capable of performing the work. <br /> <br />NetSupport Notify Use for Network Outages <br />Mr. Goeben provided a history of the purchase and use of NetSupport Notify by the Security Committee. <br />According to the Kittitas County Emergency Procedures, 4/18, “NetSupport Notify is our EMERGENCY <br />NOTIFICATION SYSTEM (ENS)… It was purchased to enhance our internal emergency communications, <br />and should only be used to report emergencies or notify others that help is needed.” The board directed <br />IT to use NetSupport Nofity to alert staff to network outages that would shut down basic functions of <br />government. <br /> <br />GIS Mapping Services <br />Mr. Goeben informed the board a consultant working for a fire district requested mapping services from <br />IT. The board directed IT to obtain a request from the fire department for board consideration. <br /> <br />Other Business <br />Mr. Goeben updated the board that Dude Solutions’ Laserfiche integration is complete and operational. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 11:50 AM. <br /> Kittitas County Commissioners <br />Information Technology Director Kittitas County, Washington <br /> <br /> <br /> _______________________________________ _______________________________________ <br />Jim Goeben, IT Director Cory Wright, Chair
