COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 9:00 A.M. DECEMBER 5, 2018
Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Obie
O’Brien; and Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Lisa Young, Human
Resource Director/Interim Event Center Director; Patti Johnson,
Solid Waste Director/Project Manager.
SPECIAL MEETING BID REVIEW/DIRECTION COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to
review/discuss the Bloom Pavilion Project Bids received and give
direction to Staff.
Patti Johnson, Solid Waste Director/Project Manager presented the
bids received and stated that one of the two received later
submitted a request to withdraw their bid. She stated that the
Architect reviewed the Bid and found it to be responsive to the
bidding requirements. She stated that the Architect ALSC recommended
that the County award the Bid to Belsaas & Smith Construction, Inc.
The Board directed Ms. Johnson to bring forward a Resolution to
award the Bid to Belsaas & Smith Construction, noting that they
would proceed with the Base Bid of $215,915.00; as well as
alternates D and E in the amount of $125,000.00 (Grand Total
$340,915.00). Ms. Johnson noted that the Grant was for $250,000.00
so the difference of $90,915.00 would be on the County to pay. The
Board stated that it would be paid for from the Sales Tax Revenue
received.
