COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. NOVEMBER 26, 2018
Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Obie
O’Brien and Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II & Julie
Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board.
SPECIAL MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers. Note there were NO
vouchers this week.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending November 21, 2018 (due to holiday).
DISCUSSION BOCC OFFICE CLOSURE COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Wright proposed that the BoCC Office close on
12/21/2018 to allow for end of the year turn over, archiving and
clean up. Chairman Osiadacz stated that she was in support of the
idea. Commissioner O’Brien cautioned the Board on potential push
back they may receive from other EO’s and DH’s. Staff was directed
to prepare enabling documents for the Board to consider.
RATIFY REAL ESTATE EXCISE TAX COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner O’Brien moved to ratify Chair signature on a Real
Estate Excise Tax Supplemental Statement for the Teanaway water
purchase. Commissioner Wright seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
DISCUSSION PLAC – NO NET LOSS COMMISSIONERS

Chairman Osiadacz presented the Board with a listing of ideas for
the definition of “no net loss of roads”. She stated it’s something
that the Public Lands Advisory Committee is working on and she
wanted the Boards input as well.
Time ran out for discussion and Staff was asked to set a follow up
meeting.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board decided for the week of 11-26-2018 they would share a post
on the BoCC’s Facebook page a request for Christmas Cards to Tavish
McCosh who is a local child that is battling cancer. Commissioner
O’Brien stated he would also like to encourage the BoCC to send a
card.
UPDATE BOCC/DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special
Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18,
2009. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their
respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings. On
January 3, 2011 the Board determined it would be beneficial to
alternate Commissioners that will oversee the different Department
Head’s on an annual basis. They determined at the end of 2013 they
would review the various committees they participate in and provide
beneficial updates to the Board as needed during this time as well.
