3. Reposting Planning Official Position
4. Executive Session - To evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for public employment
or to review the performance of a public employee. However, subject to RCW 42.30.140(4),
discussion by a governing body of salaries, wages, and other conditions of employment to
be generally applied within the agency shall occur in a meeting open to the public, and
when a governing body elects to take final action hiring, setting the salary of an individual
employee or class of employees, or discharging or disciplining an employee, that action
shall be taken in a meeting open to the public.

MONDAY 1:30 PM October 23, 2017
Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell, Vice -Chairman Laura
Osiadacz, and Obie O'Brien
Others: Dan Carlson, Stephanie Mifflin (CDS), Mark Cook, Candie
Leader (PW) Lisa Young (HR)
Meeting was called to order at 1:30 P.M.
Item one was removed from the agenda.
Reposting Planning Official Position
Dan stated this item is a request to repost the position due to
the lack of applicants received from the first posting. Dan
stated CDS decided to post a Senior Planner position but there
were no qualified applicants. Dan stated the title and
responsibilities are more marketable as a Planning Official, and
is requesting to post the Planning Official position again.
Executive Session
At 1:43 p.m. Chairman Jewell announced the Board would recess
into executive session for 10 minutes to discuss the
qualifications of an applicant for public employment or to
review the performance of a public employee. However, subject to
RCW 42.30.140(4), discussion by a governing body of salaries,
wages, and other conditions of employment to be generally
applied within the agency shall occur in a meeting open to the
public, and when a governing body elects to take final action

At 1:53 p.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No
action was taken. The meeting was adjoLirned.
