COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
TUESDAY 10:00 A.M AUGUST 28, 2018
Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Obie
O’Brien; Commissioner Cory Wright.
Others: Dan Carlson, CDS Director; Clay Myers, Undersheriff; Debbie
Myers, Staff; and one member of the public.
SPECIAL MEETING KVFR BOCC
At 10:07 p.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special meeting to discuss
and consider the services provided/offered by Kittitas Valley Fire
and Rescue (KVFR).
There was discussion on the Interlocal Agreement with KVFR which
expires on August 31, 2018; the Firewise program; the currently
vacant Fire Marshall position; the proposal to split the Fire
Marshal duties between two departments, with Community Development
Services handling the fire code inspections and the Sheriff’s Office
handling the fire investigations.
Undersheriff Myers said he would work on an Interlocal Agreement
regarding the investigative portion. CDS Director Carlson said he
would work on an Interlocal Agreement regarding the code inspection
portion.
The meeting was adjourned at 10:50 a.m.
