COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. JUNE 11, 2018
Board members present: Vice Chairman Obie O’Brien & Commissioner
Paul Jewell. Excused - Chairman Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II.
SPECIAL MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Vice-Chair O’Brien opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending June 8, 2018.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
The Board determined for the week of June 11, 2018 they would share
the Press Release for the flag lowering for former Superior Court
Judge Frances P. Chmelewski, the County Job Posting for Fair Workers
and the Press Release for Upper County Road Meeting Notice - Nelson
Siding Road.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special
Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18,
2009. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their
respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings. On
January 3, 2011 the Board determined it would be beneficial to
alternate Commissioners that will oversee the different Department
Head’s on an annual basis. They determined at the end of 2013 they

would review the various committees they participate in and provide
beneficial updates to the Board as needed during this time as well.
LETTER BUDGET RETREAT DIRECTIONS COMMISSIONERS
Item removed due to Chairman being absent to discuss. Staff directed
to set a Special Meeting.
WAIVER NOISE ORDINANCE – HERRERA/RIOS WEDDING COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner O’Brien moved to approve and authorize a Noise
Ordinance Waiver request from Maria Herrera & Marin Rios for their
wedding at their home located at 31 Windy Ridge Lane, Ellensburg, WA
98926 on June 24, 2018 until midnight, with the condition of Ms.
Herrera notifying adjacent property owners of the party that are
within 500 feet of the property and then provide the BoCC with proof
of the notice by no later than 6/22/2018. Commissioner Jewell
seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
APPRAISAL KIDDER MATHEWS COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner O’Brien moved to ratify Commissioner Jewell’s signature
on an Engagement of Services Appraisal Review with Kidder Mathews in
the amount of $2,000.00. Commissioner Jewell seconded. Motion
carried 2-0.
OTHER BUSINESS-
PRESS RELEASE COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize Staff to publish a Press
Release directing flags at half-staff on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in
memory of former Superior Court Judge Frances P. Chmelewski who
passed away over the weekend, noting that flags should remain at
half-staff until close of business on Friday June 15, 2018.
Commissioner Jewell seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
