04/10/2018 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />TUESDAY 1:00 P.M. APRIL 10, 2018 <br /> <br />Board members present: Vice-Chairman Obie O’Brien and Commissioner <br />Paul Jewell. Absent: Chairman Laura Osiadacz <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Patti Johnson, Solid <br />Waste/Maintenance Director; Lisa Lawrence, Assistant Solid Waste <br />Director; Lindsey Lopez, Jacobs Engineering; and 2 members of the <br />public. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING TRANSFER STATION RELOCATION SOLID WASTE <br /> <br />At 1:00 p.m. Vice-Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to <br />obtain an update on the Solid Waste Transfer Station Relocation <br />project. <br /> <br />Lindsey Lopez, Jacobs Engineering, provided a history of the process <br />they’ve been working on relating to the relocation of the Solid <br />Waste Transfer Station. She included information including completed <br />work elements (cost estimates, conceptual layouts, preliminary <br />screening, etc.) She also reviewed the site plans and what they’ve <br />been doing for outreach to the community and said the comment period <br />is open until April 27, 2018. There was information on what would be <br />the potential for flooding at each of the 3 proposed sites. They <br />need to complete the scoring for each site, weight criteria using <br />feedback from community, rank sites and then select the preferred <br />site. <br /> <br />Patti Johnson, Solid Waste/Maintenance Director/Project Manager <br />reviewed information on the project including the next steps moving <br />forward. The Board asked Staff to notify them of the rankings when <br />it’s been determined and advise them of those in an Executive <br />Session so they can discuss possible real estate negotiations.
