04/10/2018 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM SPECIAL MEETING TUESDAY 1:00 P.M. APRIL 10, 2018 Board members present: Vice-Chairman Obie O’Brien and Commissioner Paul Jewell. Absent: Chairman Laura Osiadacz Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Patti Johnson, Solid Waste/Maintenance Director; Lisa Lawrence, Assistant Solid Waste Director; Lindsey Lopez, Jacobs Engineering; and 2 members of the public. SPECIAL MEETING TRANSFER STATION RELOCATION SOLID WASTE At 1:00 p.m. Vice-Chairman O’Brien opened a Special Meeting to obtain an update on the Solid Waste Transfer Station Relocation project. Lindsey Lopez, Jacobs Engineering, provided a history of the process they’ve been working on relating to the relocation of the Solid Waste Transfer Station. She included information including completed work elements (cost estimates, conceptual layouts, preliminary screening, etc.) She also reviewed the site plans and what they’ve been doing for outreach to the community and said the comment period is open until April 27, 2018. There was information on what would be the potential for flooding at each of the 3 proposed sites. They need to complete the scoring for each site, weight criteria using feedback from community, rank sites and then select the preferred site. Patti Johnson, Solid Waste/Maintenance Director/Project Manager reviewed information on the project including the next steps moving forward. The Board asked Staff to notify them of the rankings when it’s been determined and advise them of those in an Executive Session so they can discuss possible real estate negotiations. Ms. Johnson reviewed a draft of timelines/milestones to try and make the process flow as smooth as possible.
