SPECIAL MEETING
FRIDAY 2:30 P.M. MARCH 30, 2018
Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman
Obie O’Brien and Commissioner Paul Jewell.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Lindsey Ozbolt,
Planning Official; Dan Carlson, CDS Director; and approximately
16 members of the public.
SPECIAL MEETING SOLAR REGULATIONS CDS
At 2:30 p.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to
conduct a work session with members of the Kittitas County Solar
Facilities Citizen Advisory Committee.
Dan Carlson, CDS Director said the Solar Facilities Citizen
Advisory Committee finished up their work on March 1, 2018 and
have created recommendations for Staff to compile. He indicated
the Board had requested a meeting with the Committee to review
their information. The recommendations were in a draft form and
had not been reviewed by legal yet.
The Board reviewed each section of the draft recommendations and
asked questions of Staff and Committee members which included
the purpose, definitions, a facilities overlay map, siting
overlay, permit submittal requirements, procedures, visual
impacts/aesthetics, setbacks/buffers/standards, environment,
security/safety, decommissioning/abandonment; and exceptions.
The Board thanked the Committee members for their hard work in
creating the draft document.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:29 p.m.
