2018-02-16 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />FRIDAY 1:00 P.M. FEBRUARY 16, 2018 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Obie <br />O’Brien; Commissioner Paul Jewell. <br /> <br />Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Patti Johnson, Solid <br />Waste/Maintenance Director/Project Manager; Tim Egan, Assistant <br />Maintenance Director. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING McKINSTRY MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />At 1:00 p.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to consider <br />authorizing repairs to the boiler at the Morris Sorenson building. <br /> <br />Patti Johnson, Solid Waste/Maintenance Director/Project Manager and <br />Tim Egan, Assistant Maintenance Director provided the Board with <br />information on repairs needed to the boiler at the Morris Sorenson <br />Building. The boiler has failed L&I testing so they looked at <br />alternatives but were found to not be cost effective. Mr. Egan said <br />they received 2 quotes and the lowest bid received was from <br />Mckinstry in the amount of $67,920.00. Ms. Johnson noted the project <br />had not been budgeted for she spoke with Judy Pless, Budget & <br />Finance Manager and she indicated there is enough to cover the <br />amount in the fund that renters pay into and would require a budget <br />amendment. <br /> <br />AGREEMENT McKINSTRY MAINTENANCE <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien moved to approve a Professional Services <br />Agreement between Kittitas County and McKinstry for the boiler <br />heating system at the Morris Sorenson Building, in the amount of <br />$67,920.00 plus sales tax, to be completed by April 20, 2018. <br />Commissioner Jewell seconded.
