COMMISSIONER’S CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
FRIDAY 1:00 P.M. FEBRUARY 16, 2018
Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Obie
O’Brien; Commissioner Paul Jewell.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Patti Johnson, Solid
Waste/Maintenance Director/Project Manager; Tim Egan, Assistant
Maintenance Director.
SPECIAL MEETING McKINSTRY MAINTENANCE
At 1:00 p.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to consider
authorizing repairs to the boiler at the Morris Sorenson building.
Patti Johnson, Solid Waste/Maintenance Director/Project Manager and
Tim Egan, Assistant Maintenance Director provided the Board with
information on repairs needed to the boiler at the Morris Sorenson
Building. The boiler has failed L&I testing so they looked at
alternatives but were found to not be cost effective. Mr. Egan said
they received 2 quotes and the lowest bid received was from
Mckinstry in the amount of $67,920.00. Ms. Johnson noted the project
had not been budgeted for she spoke with Judy Pless, Budget &
Finance Manager and she indicated there is enough to cover the
amount in the fund that renters pay into and would require a budget
amendment.
AGREEMENT McKINSTRY MAINTENANCE
Commissioner O’Brien moved to approve a Professional Services
Agreement between Kittitas County and McKinstry for the boiler
heating system at the Morris Sorenson Building, in the amount of
$67,920.00 plus sales tax, to be completed by April 20, 2018.
Commissioner Jewell seconded. Motion carried 3-0.
