FEBRUARY 12, 2018 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Laura Osiadacz; Vice-Chairman Obie <br />O’Brien; and Commissioner Paul Jewell. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING 3 LETTERS FOR CONSIDERATION COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 1:03 p.m. Chairman Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting to consider <br />letters to Jon Hoeskstra, Mountains to Sound Greenway; Representative <br />Matt Manweller and Citizen Doug Weis regarding a land swap. <br /> <br />LETTER MOUNTAINS TO SOUND GREENWAY COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize Board signature on a letter to <br />Jon Hoekstra, Executive Director Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust, <br />regarding the County’s request to rescind its letter of support for the <br />designation of the Mountains to Sound Greenway National Heritage Area <br />dated 9/7/2011 and requesting that they remove the County from the list <br />of supporters as published on its website. Chairman Osiadacz seconded. <br />Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />ACKNOWLEDGE LETTER FROM KC TO REP. MANWELLER COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien moved to acknowledge a letter for Chair signature <br />sent to Representative Matt Manweller, outlining what the County would <br />do with State funding assistance of approximately $100,000.00 for a <br />portion of the Kittitas Valley Event Center upgrades. Chairman Osiadacz <br />seconded. Commissioner Jewell explained why the letter was sent and not <br />signed due to time constraints and the letter being needed right away <br />but yet he and Chairman Osiadacz were both in a meeting at the time the <br />letter had to go, so he produced the letter and it was e-mailed to <br />Representative Manweller. Motion carried 3-0. <br /> <br />LETTER DOUGLAS WEIS – LAND SWAP – DENIAL COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize Board signature on a letter to <br />Douglas Weis, Western Elite, Inc. denying a proposal the County received <br />to consider a land swap. Commissioner Jewell seconded. Motion carried 3-
