Jerry Pettit and Sue Higginbotham presented the 2016 preliminary
departmental budget. The following items were reviewed:
Elections, new DOL system comes on line 12-12-16, going out for
sub agency in Ellensburg, will require training for set up;
election reserve $75,000 fund balance- state wide voter based
system. Need to purchase new election system $154,000 ($35,000
per year 5 year at 2.9% interest.) System is 11 years old.
Computer and operating system was last updated to windows 2000.
Sub Agent fees were discussed with earliest implementation April
2017.
Regional Libraries
Representative from the various libraries were available to
review the regional library budgets. The summer reading program
last funded in 2014. Libraries agreed they would rather have
the contributions increase than have the summer reading program.
Commissioner Osiadacz requested the breakdown of each library
for the numbers of county residents. The library requests with
comparison to current funds is as follows:
