HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-10-23-minutes-2016-preliminary-budget-discussionCOMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS' AUDITORIUM SPECIAL MEETING FRIDAY 9:00 AM OCTOBER 23, 2015 Board members present: Chairman Gary Berndt, Vice-Chairman Obie O’Brien, Commissioner Paul Jewell Others: Juvenile Director Mike Stafford, Administrative Assistance to Juvenile Director Kari Elkins, County Prosecutor Greg Zempel, Administrative Assistant to the Prosecutor Robin Raap, Legal Secretary Angela Bugni, Information Technology Director Jim Goeben, Information Technology Assistant Director Andrew Drain, Facilities Maintenance Director Patti Johnson, Budget & Finance Manager Judy Pless SPECIAL MEETING COMMISSIONERS 2016 Preliminary Budget Discussion Juvenile Probation, Prosecutor and Law Library, Information Technology, Facilities Maintenance Juvenile Probation 9:00am Mike Stafford and Kari Elkins presented the 2016 preliminary departmental budget. The following items were discussed: Reduced positions, CJT requires county to cover costs of training, review lease payment Prosecutor 10:00am Greg Zempel, Robin Raap, and Angela Bugni presented the 2016 preliminary departmental budget. The following items were discussed: New position requests, diversion fees down, intent to review Sexual Assault interview fees with other agencies, intent to look at city of Kittitas costs. Also noted was to get a breakdown on Victim Witness and closing 136 funds; as well as special attorney fees. Also discussed was $40,000 victim witness contribution from the General Fund. Information Technology Jim Goeben and Andrew Drain presented the 2016 preliminary departmental budget. The following items were reviewed: Budget reserves, position request for Applications manager position, VOIP, review of everyone’s budget for Laserfiche. In 2017 is the ending of the long term lease-maintenance increases. Computer rotation looks to be at about $85,000.00, looking at Lean process. Facilities Maintenance 1:30pm Patti Johnson presented the 2016 preliminary departmental budget. The following items were reviewed: Budget for ½ director, budget from reserves, maintenance, funding the jail repairs from 1/10 adult tax.
