COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />THURSDAY 10:30 AM OCTOBER 22, 2015 <br />Board members present: Chairman Gary Berndt; Vice-Chairman Obie <br />O’Brien; Commissioner Paul Jewell <br />Others: Coroner Nick Henderson, Human Resource Director Lisa <br />Young, Clerk of the Board Julie Kjorsvik, Fire Marshal Brenda <br />Larsen, and Budget and Finance Manager Finance Manager Judy <br />Pless <br />SPECIAL MEETING COMMISSIONERS <br />2016 Preliminary Budget Discussions <br />Coroner, Human Resource, Fire Marshal, Commissioner’s Office <br />Meeting started at 10:15 <br />Coroner <br />Coroner Nick Henderson reviewed his 2016 preliminary <br />departmental budget. He reviewed the following items: Death <br />certificate fee; review of departmental salaries; leaving <br />vehicle at Courthouse and at Upper District Court; cell phones <br />and fixing the current 2015 professional services budget. <br />Human Resource <br />Lisa Young reviewed her 2016 preliminary departmental budget. <br />She reviewed the following items: Civil Service; Risk Management <br />Department; increase in the budget – correctional process. Also <br />reviewed was the standardized test for civil service positions, <br />add $6,000 for assessment center. There was review of the <br />request for the .40FTE with no benefits; AWC membership fee. <br />Commissioner’s Office – 2:20pm <br />Julie Kjorsvik reviewed the 2016 preliminary departmental <br />budget. There was an error in insurance so remove $5,056 from <br />the request. <br />
