COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:50 A.M. AUGUST 21, 2017
Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell; Commissioner Obie
O’Brien & Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Jill Scheffer,
Event Center Director.
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER
Jill Scheffer, Event Center Director reviewed the walk through of
the Rodeo Area that she Commissioner Jewell, members of the Rodeo
Board and other County Staff participated in last week.
She indicated that the Gold Buckle Club will have the carpet
replaced and the expense will be docked from the 2018 rent.
The Board authorized Ms. Scheffer to bring forward a Budget
Amendment to get the roof on the Gold Buckle Club fixed
(approximately $13,000.00).
She also indicated that the Calf Shoot is coming from Texas and will
be used for the Ellensburg Rodeo exclusively. They will take it out
when their event is not going on. She stated the same plan will
happen with the bucking shoots. She stated that the equipment
purchased by the Ellensburg Rodeo Board (ERB) will be installed and
uninstalled by ERB Members.
She stated that they will be working on doing a before and after
checklist to go through after events and that will allow them to
narrow down where the damage is happening and by who.
Chairman Jewell stated that there will be approximately $10,000.00 -
$11,000.00 dollars off of the ERB’s rent in 2018 for all the work
and repairs they are doing this year.
