COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY 3:00 P.M. JULY 24, 2017
Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell; Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz and Commissioner Obie O’Brien.
Others: Julie Kjorsvik, Clerk of the Board; Robin Read,
Stephanie Hartung, Deputy Prosecutor; Mark Larson, Public Health
Officer and 1 member of the public.
SPECIAL MEETING SMOKING/VAPING AT EVENT CENTER COMMISSIONERS
At 3:00 p.m. Chairman Jewell opened a Special Meeting to
consider options and proposed language which had been drafted by
Deputy Prosecutor, Stephanie Hartung.
Stephanie Hartung, Deputy Prosecutor, reviewed language which
she had prepared that would add a section to the Smoking/Vaping
Chapter within the Kittitas County Code.
It was noted that since it is a Board of Health issue, they
would need to set a Public Hearing to consider an Ordinance to
amend the County Code. Robin Read, Public Health Administrator
was directed to advertise a Special Meeting of the Board of
Health so they may schedule a Public Hearing to be held on
August 17, 2017.
There were questions on if there would be any issues regulating
changes during the rodeo. If it’s determined the rodeo would be
impacted then the Rodeo Board needs to be notified so they can
make plans accordingly.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:11 p.m.
