07/03/2017 MINUTES 1 <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 9:50 A.M. JULY 03, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz. Excused: Commissioner Obie O’Brien. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Jill Scheffer, <br />Event Center Director. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER <br /> <br />Jill Scheffer, KVEC Director presented the Board with background <br />information on the Luke Mezich Memorial Ride. She explained that Mr. <br />Mezich has requested the Event Center consider a reduction in the <br />camping fees for their event this year. She stated that their event <br />has increased 4-fold from 20 overnight campers to 80 campers and now <br />the cost of camping will cost exceed the cost of the event. She <br />stated that they have requested a “flat fee” for camping instead of <br />per hookup use. Ms. Scheffer stated that they are already receiving <br />a reduced rate as they pay $30.00 for hookups and $17.00 for dry <br />camp instead of $35.00 for a group rate. <br /> <br />The Board indicated that they would not allow for a waiver/reduced <br />rate. Chairman Jewell stated that they can’t get in a habit of <br />offering a varying amount of discounts for every event that is held <br />at the Event Center. <br /> <br />Ms. Scheffer stated that she received two bids for the work to be <br />performed at the Rodeo Grounds for the Buckaroo Roof, Gold Buckle <br />Roof and the Buckaroo Skyboxes. She presented the Bids received from <br />Rodeo Roofing LLC ($112,865.05) and Schademan Construction <br />($57,014.00) for the Board to review. She stated that the bids <br />received from Schademan were more detailed and the bid was lower <br />than Rodeo Roofing LLC. There was discussion on the priority of the <br />projects and where the funds would come from. The Board encouraged <br />Ms. Scheffer to award the 3 projects to Schademan Construction and <br />to work out the financials to cover the cost of the projects that <br />not currently budgeted for. They authorized Ms. Scheffer to move <br />forward on the projects she currently has funding for and report <br />back to the Board with ideas of how to fund the difference. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
