KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:00 A.M. JULY 03, 2017
Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz. Excused: Commissioner Obie O’Brien.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; and 2 members
of the public.
REGULAR MEETING OFFICE STAFF MEETING COMMISSIONERS
At 9:00 a.m. Chairman Jewell opened the Office Administration
meeting.
CALENDAR WEEK AT A GLANCE COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed their weekly calendar.
PAF/VOUCHERS REVIEW OF PAF’S & VOUCHERS COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners approved and signed County
Employee Personnel Action forms and vouchers.
CORRESPONDENCE LOG REVIEW OF CORRESPONDENCE LOG COMMISSIONERS
The Board of County Commissioners reviewed the weekly Correspondence
Log, a listing of all incoming mail and correspondence for the week
ending June 30, 2017.
DISCUSSION FACEBOOK WEEKLY POSTS COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Jewell suggested a post wishing the Citizens a safe and
happy 4th of July.
CORRECTION TVFF WATER RIGHT – AMENDED COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve Chair signature on both of
the corrected Teanaway Valley Family Farm (TVFF) Water Resources
Application(s) for Change/Transfer of a Water Right. Chairman Jewell
seconded. Motion carried 2-0.
CHANGE ORDER ASPECT CONSULTING COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to authorize Chair signature on Change
Order No.: 8 with Aspect Consulting for the Teanaway Valley Family
7/03/2017 MINUTES 2
Farm (TVFF), LLP Water Right Purchase. Chairman Jewell seconded.
Motion carried 2-0.
RATIFY APA & PAW 2017 PLANNING AWARD COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to ratify Chairman Jewell’s signature on
the APA & PAW 2017 Planning Awards Program. Chairman Jewell
seconded. Chairman Jewell explained that due to the deadline the
letter needed to be signed prior to this meeting. Motion carried 2-
0.
REQUEST CELL PHONE BOOSTER COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to approve the purchase of a Cellphone
Booster for the County Commissioners Office. Chairman Jewell
seconded. Chairman Jewell explained that since the BoCC is with AT&T
the reception is horrible in the office and he is finding more often
than not he has to make calls outside, this should correct that
problem and shouldn’t cost more than $300.00 according to IT.
Commissioner Osiadacz agreed that the reception is terrible and this
will be a great asset. Motion carried 2-0.
RATIFY LEGAL DESCRIPTION COMMISSIONERS
Chairman Jewell moved to ratify Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz’s
initials on the legal description for the land purchase offer made
on 6-29-2017. Commissioner Osiadacz seconded. She stated that they
didn’t have a “formal” legal description on the day of signing and
this is to be included to the offer made on 6-29-2017. Motion
carried 2-0.
UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special
Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18,
2009. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their
respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings. On
January 3, 2011 the Board determined it would be beneficial to
alternate Commissioners that will oversee the different Department
Head’s on an annual basis. They determined at the end of 2013 they
would review the various committees they participate in and provide
beneficial updates to the Board as needed during this time as well.
