06/19/2017 MINUTES 1 <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 9:40 A.M. JUNE 19, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Commissioner Obie <br />O’Brien. Absent: Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Jim Goeben, IT <br />Director; Jill Scheffer, Event Center Director. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD INFORMATION TECH. <br /> <br />Jim Goeben, IT Director indicated that there was a request pre- <br />dating Ms. Scheffer that the County Fair Board would like an <br />Instagram social media account to share pictures throughout the <br />Fair. <br /> <br />Commissioner O’Brien stated that he attended the last IT Committee <br />meeting and there was an extensive discussion on the pros and cons <br />of an additional social media account and reviewed the concerns <br />expressed. Those were primarily concerns for children in the <br />pictures and parents or “guardians” not wanting their picture’s out <br />there for one reason or another and putting the child at risk. <br /> <br />Chairman Jewell and Commissioner O’Brien stated that they would not <br />support the request for an Instagram Account for the County Fair to <br />be updated by the Fair Board.
