COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:40 A.M. JUNE 19, 2017
Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Commissioner Obie
O’Brien. Absent: Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Jim Goeben, IT
Director; Jill Scheffer, Event Center Director.
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD INFORMATION TECH.
Jim Goeben, IT Director indicated that there was a request pre-
dating Ms. Scheffer that the County Fair Board would like an
Instagram social media account to share pictures throughout the
Fair.
Commissioner O’Brien stated that he attended the last IT Committee
meeting and there was an extensive discussion on the pros and cons
of an additional social media account and reviewed the concerns
expressed. Those were primarily concerns for children in the
pictures and parents or “guardians” not wanting their picture’s out
there for one reason or another and putting the child at risk.
Chairman Jewell and Commissioner O’Brien stated that they would not
support the request for an Instagram Account for the County Fair to
be updated by the Fair Board. They did indicate that they would have
no objection for use of #fun@kittitascountyfair etc.
Meeting adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
