COMMISSIONER’S AUDITORIUM
SPECIAL MEETING
TUESDAY 2:30 P.M. JUNE 12, 2017
Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz. Recused himself and left the room: Commissioner Obie
O’Brien.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Judy Pless,
Budget & Finance Director; Nancy Goodloe, Homelessness & Affordable
Housing Committee Member and 1 member of the public.
SPECIAL MEETING SPURLING PLACE DEV. FUNDING COMMISSIONERS
At 2:30 p.m. Chairman Jewell opened a Special Meeting to discuss
funding for the Spurling Place Development.
Commissioner Osiadacz, Vice-Chair/Chair of the Homelessness &
Affordable Housing Committee (HAHC) stated that the Board needs to
determine specifically which fund (Homelessness or Affordable
Housing) would the $500,000.00 for the Spurling Place Development
would come from. She explained that in the Resolution it was not
specified. She provided a handout of the current summary for each
fund. Judy Pless, Budget and Finance Director reviewed the summaries
of both funds as prepared by Public Health Fiscal Analyst Kaitlyn
Reddick. Commissioner Osiadacz explained that the HAHC can’t move
forward with the RFP process until this is determined so they know
what funds they have available.
Chairman Jewell suggested using 19% of the funds from Affordable
Housing and 81% of the funds from Homelessness. Additionally he
proposed in 2018 - $250,000.00 and in 2019 $250,000.00 to equal the
$500,000.00. Commissioner Osiadacz expressed her support for the
proposal and thanked everyone for attending. She stated they will
proceed as suggested.
