COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM
SPECIAL MEETING
WEDNESDAY 10:30 A.M. JUNE 7, 2017
Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell; Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz & Commissioner Obie O’Brien.
Others: Lisa Young, Human Resource Director; Chris Horner, Deputy
Prosecutor; Clayton Myers, Undersheriff; Lisa McMeekin, Washington
Counties Risk Pool; and John Colvard (SeaPort Claims).
SPECIAL MEETING EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS
At 10:35 a.m. Chairman Jewell opened a Special Meeting announced the
Board would recess into Executive Session for 30 minutes to discuss
with legal counsel representing the agency matters relating to
agency enforcement actions, or to discuss with legal counsel
representing the agency litigation or potential litigation to which
the agency, the governing body, or a member acting in an official
capacity is, or is likely to become, a party, when public knowledge
regarding the discussion is likely to result in an adverse legal or
financial consequence to the agency. Possible action anticipated.
At 11:05 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No
action was taken.
At 11:05 a.m. Chairman Jewell announced the Board would recess back
into Executive Session for 10 minutes to discuss with legal counsel
representing the agency matters relating to agency enforcement
actions, or to discuss with legal counsel representing the agency
litigation or potential litigation to which the agency, the
governing body, or a member acting in an official capacity is, or is
likely to become, a party, when public knowledge regarding the
discussion is likely to result in an adverse legal or financial
consequence to the agency. Possible action anticipated.
At 11:15 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No
action was taken.
At 11:15 a.m. Chairman Jewell announced the Board would recess back
into Executive Session for 10 minutes to discuss with legal counsel
representing the agency matters relating to agency enforcement
actions, or to discuss with legal counsel representing the agency
litigation or potential litigation to which the agency, the
governing body, or a member acting in an official capacity is, or is
likely to become, a party, when public knowledge regarding the

At 11:25 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session. No
action was taken.
At 11:25 a.m. Chairman Jewell announced the Board would recess back
into Executive Session for 10 minutes to discuss with legal counsel
representing the agency matters relating to agency enforcement
actions, or to discuss with legal counsel representing the agency
litigation or potential litigation to which the agency, the
governing body, or a member acting in an official capacity is, or is
likely to become, a party, when public knowledge regarding the
discussion is likely to result in an adverse legal or financial
consequence to the agency. Possible action anticipated.
At 11:35 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session.
Commissioner Osiadacz moved to accept the offer given to the County
from State Farm, with Ms. Brand accepting 30% liability and Kittitas
County accepting 70% liability, noting financial payment is to be
made accordingly. Commissioner O’Brien seconded. Motion carried 3-
0.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:37 a.m.
