05/01/2017 MINUTES 1 <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 9:50 A.M. MAY 1, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell; Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz & Commissioner Obie O’Brien. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Jill Scheffer, <br />KVEC Director and one member of the public. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER <br /> <br />Jill Scheffer, KVEC Director explained that she wanted to check in <br />with the Board since she has been with the County for approximately <br />3 weeks and to see if there was anything they needed or had concerns <br />about. She stated that Staff as well as the Fair & Rodeo Board have <br />been very welcoming. She updated the Board about an abandoned car at <br />the Event Center and a truck full of garbage left behind the bowling <br />alley. <br /> <br />Ms. Scheffer presented the Board with the Event Center Fire <br />Inspection Results produced by the KVFR noting that they were marked <br />as “fail” and summary notes stated minor violations – no re-inspect <br />or violations noted. She stated that they are all fairly in- <br />expensive fixes and they will begin working on them right away. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS - <br /> <br />She noted that she has been considering doing a “friendly neighbor <br />campaign” newsletter that would keep surrounding neighbors informed <br />of any and all events coming up at the Event Center. <br /> <br />Brief discussion the Board reviewed some budget items with Ms. <br />Scheffer of what was approved for her 2017 budget. <br /> <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 10:00 a.m. <br /> <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Mandy Buchholz Paul Jewell, Chairman <br />
