COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:50 A.M. MAY 1, 2017
Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell; Vice-Chairman Laura
Osiadacz & Commissioner Obie O’Brien.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Jill Scheffer,
KVEC Director and one member of the public.
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER
Jill Scheffer, KVEC Director explained that she wanted to check in
with the Board since she has been with the County for approximately
3 weeks and to see if there was anything they needed or had concerns
about. She stated that Staff as well as the Fair & Rodeo Board have
been very welcoming. She updated the Board about an abandoned car at
the Event Center and a truck full of garbage left behind the bowling
alley.
Ms. Scheffer presented the Board with the Event Center Fire
Inspection Results produced by the KVFR noting that they were marked
as “fail” and summary notes stated minor violations – no re-inspect
or violations noted. She stated that they are all fairly in-
expensive fixes and they will begin working on them right away.
OTHER BUSINESS -
She noted that she has been considering doing a “friendly neighbor
campaign” newsletter that would keep surrounding neighbors informed
of any and all events coming up at the Event Center.
Brief discussion the Board reviewed some budget items with Ms.
Scheffer of what was approved for her 2017 budget.
