FOLLOW UP FACEBOOK - DISCUSSION COMMISSIONERS
Commissioner Osiadacz presented a handout outlining updates to
questions posed during the Special Meeting on 4/18/2017 at 1:00 p.m.
relating to BoCC Facebook Page. She reviewed the areas she was
tasked with follow up on and asked the Board for their
input/concerns.
Chairman Jewell stated how he felt not all proclamations need to be
posted on Facebook. He felt as proclamations come before the Board
they can decide during their Monday Morning Office Admin meetings if
any are to be posted for the week or not.
There were concerns expressed about everyone signing in under the
same log in. It was determined it would be necessary to have
multiple individual sign-ins for security purposes. There was
discussion on additional language to add to the Facebook page that
would provide a link to the County Website so that visitors could
find all other documents etc., that the BoCC posts.
Chairman Jewell provided a revised response to Facebook posts for
staff to respond with. “Thank you for your interest on this topic.
If you’d like to discuss this issue further, we’d be happy to talk
with you in person. Please contact our office by phone at

UPDATE BOCC/ DEPARTMENT HEAD REPORTS COMMISSIONERS
Each Commissioner was assigned three different Department Heads to
meet with on a weekly basis. This was determined at a Special
Meeting with the Board of County Commissioners held on June 18,
2009. Each Commissioner reviewed discussions held with their
respective departments and exchanged details of those meetings. On
January 3, 2011 the Board determined it would be beneficial to
alternate Commissioners that will oversee the different Department
Head’s on an annual basis. They determined at the end of 2013 they
would review the various committees they participate in and provide
beneficial updates to the Board as needed during this time as well.
