KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
SPECIAL MEETING
THURSDAY 11:00 A.M. APRIL 20, 2017
Board members present: Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz & Commissioner Obie
O’Brien. Excused: Chairman Paul Jewell.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board II; Neil Caulkins,
Deputy Prosecutor; Mark Cook, Public Works Director & Lucas Huck,
Engineer.
SPECIAL MEETING EXECUTIVE SESSION COMMISSIONERS
At 11:07 a.m. Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz opened a Special Meeting
and announced the Board would recess into Executive Session for 10
minutes to consider the selection of a site or the acquisition of
real estate by lease or purchase when public knowledge regarding
such consideration would cause a likelihood of increased price.
Action was anticipated.
At 11:17 a.m. the Board reconvened out of Executive Session.
Commissioner O’Brien moved to authorize Vice-Chair Signature on an
Amended Offer to Purchase Real Estate for Parcel Numbers 11848,
11813, and 13229, in the amount $349,000.00 with $20,000.00 dollars
as earnest money, noting that the offer expires 5/15/2017 and the
amendments Deputy Caulkins is to add are under the Conditions: 4.)
Verification of acreage by survey conducted by County and 5.)
Environmental Review Phase I and closing would take place by
6/15/2017 and that it will be paid for by Public Works. Vice-
Chairman Osiadacz seconded. Commissioner O’Brien stated that he felt
this is a prime opportunity and a good move for the County. Vice
Chairman Osiadacz stated that the amount is well within the budget
for property acquisition and feels it’s a positive step forward.
Motion carried 3-0.
Meeting adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
