Commissioners Auditorium
Meeting called to order at 0805 a.m.
Present: Commissioners Paul Jewell, Obie O'Brien, Prosecutor Greg Zempel, Auditor Jerry Pettit, Sheriff
Dana and KCSO Chief Financial Manager Heather Seibert.
Status of using Off Duty Deputies on Contract OT for special events — Sheriff Dana mentioned he received a
letter from the Union on this and that about a year ago the State Auditor looked at this for justifying salary.
Commissioner Jewell recalled this and Sheriff Dana mentioned an analysis was being done, which is at the
Auditor's to review. Commissioner Jewell does not have issues with this, but wants to make sure that we are
not subsidizing.
Prosecutor Zempel discussed the difference between security and law enforcement. Jerry said that if they are
in a uniform they are to get paid by the County.
Commissioner Jewell requested a Professional Service Contract be done so that there is a record on file.
Action taken — Board requested Contract be created.
