02/06/2017 MINUTES 1 <br /> COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br /> <br />MONDAY 9:40 A.M. FEBRUARY 6, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz and Commissioner Obie O’Brien. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Lisa Lawrence, <br />Assistant Solid Waste Director/Interim Event Center Director; Judy <br />Pless, Budget and Finance Director. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER <br /> <br />Lisa Lawrence, Assistant Solid Waste Director/Interim Event Center <br />Director requested the Board to consider a request from the Cascade <br />Cow Cutters. She explained that they would like Bloom Pavilion <br />hardwired with internet service. She explained that they would like <br />to live stream there events and having the service would allow them <br />to provide additional resources when they are hosting an event. <br /> <br />Chairman Jewell stated that he would bring this request to the <br />Committee they formed for the Barn Project to consider. <br /> <br />OTHER BUSINESS – <br /> <br />Ms. Lawrence brought up a recent request from the Conservation <br />District to allow them to host an event free of charge. She stated <br />that the event in the past was held by WSU Extension and now the <br />Conservation District it taking it over. <br /> <br />The Board agreed to allow the Conservation District to continue <br />offering the event/training at no cost. <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Lawrence also brought up that a request had been received from <br />the Sheriff’s Office to invite a trainer in that would allow the <br />KCSO to send two of its employee’s to the training at no cost. She <br />was requesting direction on whether or not to change the Sheriff’s <br />Office for the event. There was discussion on the expense vs. the <br />value of the training pros and cons. The Board directed Ms. Pless to <br />notify the Sheriff’s Office that there would be a transfer of <br />$700.00 from the Sheriff’s Office Training Budget to the Event <br />Center Budget. <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:50 a.m. <br />
