02/06/2017 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM REGULAR MEETING MONDAY 9:40 A.M. FEBRUARY 6, 2017 Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Vice-Chairman Laura Osiadacz and Commissioner Obie O’Brien. Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Lisa Lawrence, Assistant Solid Waste Director/Interim Event Center Director; Judy Pless, Budget and Finance Director. REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD EVENT CENTER Lisa Lawrence, Assistant Solid Waste Director/Interim Event Center Director requested the Board to consider a request from the Cascade Cow Cutters. She explained that they would like Bloom Pavilion hardwired with internet service. She explained that they would like to live stream there events and having the service would allow them to provide additional resources when they are hosting an event. Chairman Jewell stated that he would bring this request to the Committee they formed for the Barn Project to consider. OTHER BUSINESS – Ms. Lawrence brought up a recent request from the Conservation District to allow them to host an event free of charge. She stated that the event in the past was held by WSU Extension and now the Conservation District it taking it over. The Board agreed to allow the Conservation District to continue offering the event/training at no cost. Ms. Lawrence also brought up that a request had been received from the Sheriff’s Office to invite a trainer in that would allow the KCSO to send two of its employee’s to the training at no cost. She was requesting direction on whether or not to change the Sheriff’s Office for the event. There was discussion on the expense vs. the value of the training pros and cons. The Board directed Ms. Pless to notify the Sheriff’s Office that there would be a transfer of $700.00 from the Sheriff’s Office Training Budget to the Event Center Budget. Meeting adjourned at 9:50 a.m.
