COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />BOCC CONFERENCE ROOM <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />HR STUDY SESSION <br /> <br />TUESDAY 10:00 AM MARCH 08, 2016 <br />Board members present: Obie O’Brien, Gary Berndt, Paul Jewell <br />Others: Lisa Young, Christopher Horner <br />1) Call to Order – 10:05 AM <br /> <br />2) Claims Administration – DPA Horner asked the Board if they wanted to <br />continue to hear all claims, or if perhaps they only wanted him to <br />bring claims over $500. The Board expressed interest in hearing <br />claims over $500 unless they were out of the ordinary. DPA Horner <br />and HR Director Young will work on a draft policy and/or ordinance. <br /> <br />3) Executive Session – Collective Bargaining <br />RCW 42.30.140 (4)(b) that portion of a meeting during which the governing <br />body is planning or adopting the strategy or position to be taken by the <br />governing body during the course of any collective bargaining, <br />professional negotiations, or grievance or mediation proceedings, or <br />reviewing the proposals made in the negotiations or proceedings while in <br />progress. <br />The Board entered Executive Session at 10:13 AM to discuss <br />negotiation strategies. Anticipated length: 45 minutes; anticipated <br />action: Direction to staff. At 10:58 the Board extended the <br />Executive Session for an additional five minutes. The Board exited <br />Executive Session at 11:03 AM with direction to proceed with <br />negotiations. <br /> <br />4) Other Business – Commissioner Berndt said he wanted to reinitiate <br />the CDS Director process and get it moving.
