FRIDAY 4:00 PM MARCH 13, 2015
Board members present: Gary Berndt, Obie O’Brien, Paul Jewell
Others: Lisa Young, William Holmes, Judge Hurson, Lindsey
Buntin, Carrie Panattoni, Diane Austin, Leslie Carollo
SPECIAL MEETING COMMISSIONERS
1) Call to Order – 4:00 PM
2) Recruitment (subject discussed after item #3 due to guest
participation) – HR Director Young will work with
Commissioner Jewell to review applications for PW
Director; HR will being preparing for CDS Director
interviews – the Board authorized Director Young to work
with Chairman Berndt; discussed the idea of an internal
provisional appointment for Maintenance Director –
Director Young to bring more information back to the next
meeting.
3) Review fiscal status for Misdemeanant Probation and
Commissioner recommendations – Probation Services
Director Holmes briefed the Board on financial trends and
shared his concerns. Some Probation staff members were
present to share their input. The Board determined they
would suspend rent payments starting in March and asked
Director Holmes to report back in a few weeks. They
stated the intent would be to repay the funds if
possible, and that a future discussion regarding fees
would be necessary. Additional direction provided to
maintain current staffing and work with Budget & Finance
Manager Pless. Director Young will add this to her
4/14/15 Study Session.
4) HR Updates – No specific project updates at this time.
