01/04/2017 MINUTES 1 <br />COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES <br />KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br />COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br /> <br />WEDNESDAY 10:00 A.M. JANUARY 4, 2017 <br /> <br />Board members present: Chairman Paul Jewell & Vice-Chairman Laura <br />Osiadacz. Excused: Commissioner Obie O’Brien. <br /> <br />Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Judy Pless, <br />Budget & Finance Manager; Kay Kresge, Accountant; Jerry Pettit, <br />Auditor; and Nick Henderson, Coroner. <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING VEHICLE REPLACEMENT COMMISSIONERS <br /> <br />At 10:00 a.m. Chairman Jewell opened a Special Meeting to discuss <br />plans for vehicle replacement in the County Motor Pool. <br /> <br />Nick Henderson, Coroner explained that his vehicle was totaled in <br />December and he was in need of a replacement. He stated that he <br />would like to replace his vehicle with a Ford Expedition as it would <br />provide enough space for when he has to take bodies over the pass to <br />the State Forensic Anthropologist. He stated that he is planning to <br />apply for a grant for a vehicle but he still needs something in the <br />interim. <br /> <br />The Board discussed possible vehicle’s to remove from the motor pool <br />that could be used in trade-ins and other options. There was <br />discussion on whether or not the Sheriff’s Office would have any <br />vehicles for the Coroner. Commissioner Jewell stated that his only <br />requirements were that the vehicle had more passenger room, 4-wheel <br />drive, and that it be white. <br /> <br />Judy Pless, Budget & Finance Director stated that in order for the <br />County to not have to go out for bid they would need to remain under <br />$25,000.00. <br /> <br />The Board agreed to declare the Chevy Malibu and two Crown <br />Victoria’s surplus and that would allow them to be used for trade <br />in. They directed Staff to transfer the BoCC Escape to the County <br />Coroner. Commissioner Osiadacz and Jerry Pettit, Auditor were <br />tasked with test driving a Ford Explorer at Kelleher Motor Company. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 10:25 a.m. <br /> <br />KITTITAS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />DEPUTY CLERK OF THE BOARD KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON <br /> <br />
