11/21/2016 MINUTES 1 COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON COMMISSIONERS AUDITORIUM SPECIAL MEETING MONDAY 1:30 P.M. NOVEMBER 21, 2016 Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul Jewell and Commissioner Laura Osiadacz. Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Lucas Huck, County Engineer and 2 members of the public. PUBLIC HEARING UPDATE KCC 10.12.010 PUBLIC WORKS At 1:30 p.m. CHAIRMAN O’BRIEN opened a Public Hearing to consider a proposed Ordinance to amend Kittitas County Code Chapter 10.12.010, Stops and Yields designated. LUCAS HUCK, ENGINEER provided a Staff Report and explained the proposed Ordinance would amend current County Code 10.12.010, Stops and Yields designated for South Lookout Mountain Drive at the Intersection of East Mount Daniels Drive and on East Mount Daniels Drive at the Intersection of South Delta Street. He explained the necessity of the new signage due to the extension of Mount Daniels Drive and stated that this will help to improve function and safety of the traveling public. CHAIRMAN O’BRIEN questioned if Public Works thought this action would please the neighbors that had been expressing concerns regarding the speed in the area. THERE BEING NO ONE REQUESTING TO TESTIFY, THE PUBLIC PORTION OF THE HEARING WAS CLOSED. ORDINANCE 2016-022 UPDATE KCC 10.12.010 PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSIONER JEWELL moved to approve Ordinance No. 2016-022, to Authorize the Placement of a Stop Sign at the Intersection of South Lookout Mountain Drive and East Mount Daniels Drive and on East Mount Daniels Drive at the Intersection of South Delta Street and Amend Section 10.12.010 of the Kittitas County. COMMISSIONER OSIADACZ seconded. Motion carried 3-0. The meeting was adjourned at 1:40 p.m.
