COMMISSIONERS' MINUTES
KITTITAS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
COMMISSIONERS CONFERENCE ROOM
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY 9:40 A.M. NOVEMBER 21, 2016
Board members present: Chairman Obie O’Brien; Vice-Chairman Paul
Jewell & Commissioner Laura Osiadacz.
Others: Mandy Buchholz, Deputy Clerk of the Board; Mickey Webb,
Event Center Director and one member of the public.
REGULAR MEETING DEPARTMENT HEAD KVEC
Mickey Webb, Event Center Director explained that in 2002 there wasa
land swap for the John Wayne Trail Head and there were certain
requirements that the County would fulfill, one of which would be
the County would put up more signage. He stated that with the BoCC
approval he would move forward with that in the 2017 budget.
The Board supported the request and specified that, a Discovery Pass
will not be required on County property.
Mr. Webb stated that his second request was to close the front
office on the following days, 11/23/2016, 12/22/2016, and
12/23/2016. He explained that he had no bookings and operations
Staff would still be working. He stated the benefit to this is
allowing staff a good stretch of time to take off since they cannot
take time off around other holidays like Labor Day.
The Board stated that they could not support the request. They felt
that citizens have an expectations to be able to access County
offices and should be able to. The Board offered that the time off
could be rotated amongst Staff so that this year one will take the
time off and next year will be the other employee’s turn.
